Ok...a few days ago I reported that we would be going to Game On in Melbourne in Federation Square, right? Well, today on a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne, myself and two friends thought we'd go check it out. We arrived at ACMI at Fed. Square and paid our $15 admission fee. Despite recent reporting that Midway made a massive loss this fiscal year, everything the DS and Wii is still looking rosy. Figures from the Land of the Rising Sun show that from Jan 28th to Feb 24th, Sony managed to shift 89,131 PS3 units and 38,648 PS2s with the surprising dark horse being the handheld, the PSP which somehow managed to push out 223,570 units. This was only a smidge under the DS Lite sales which means that Sony now have a 24% market share in hardware sales only outdone by Nintendo's DS Lite's 24.8 % and the Wii's 35.7%.

Bungie will be releasing an update for Halo 3 soon that addresses some issues with multiplayer map issues and some other "double experience weekend playlist". Well, we all knew it was inevitable sooner or later...Sony is in talks with Microsoft about producing a blu ray drive for the Xbox 360. A rep said for Sony said that they were currently in talks with both Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft had lent their support to Toshiba and the HD DVD technology but since then Toshiba has puilled out of the race leaving blu ray the clear winner for the next gen higher capacity storage mediums.
