Sony junkies take note, there is a new update for the PS3 downloadable through the Network Update option. Apparently all this one does is update "the operating stability of some online PS3 titles has been improved." This will bring your PS3 firmware to version 2.17. More news as it comes to hand.

Funnily enough, gangster title, Yakuza, has sold big in Japan on Sony's behemoth, the PS3. It managed to sell 181,189 in it's first week alone but it still couldn't topple the record set by Devil May Cry 4. Despite the release of a new colour PS3 for the Japanese market, Satin Silver, it still couldn't outsell the Nintendo Wii or the DS with sales of 57,068 and 48,658 respectively.

Following a short sales burst of thre Sony PSP in Japan due the release of new mint green edition, the Nintendo Wii relaims the top spot for most units shifted for the past week. For the week, the Wii sold 57,000 units, The PSP was in second place with 54,000 while the unstoppable DS had to settle for third place with 49,000 units sold. Banned murder game, Manhunt 2, has now been given a stay of execution and been allowed to be released in the UK. The Video Appeals Committee (bless 'em) have seen fit to uphold its original decision to accept the appeal made by Rockstar after the BBFC unfairly banned the game and refused it a classification.
