Following in the similar steps of Soul Calibur going platform, now Castlevania is going all brawler on us. That's right, Konami have revealed that the next upcoming Castlevania game for the Nintendo Wii will be a fighting game not too dissimilar from other fighting games out there but set in the Castlevania universe. No subtitle for the game as yet but we can reveal that the game is so far called Castlevania Judgment and will also be playable over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The game will draw on characters from the past 22 years of the franchise such as Simon Belmont, Maria Renard, Alucard and of course, the man himself, Dracula.
Anthony Crouts, vice president of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc, had the following to say, "We wanted to take this addition to the signature Konami franchise in a direction that really sets it apart from the previous Castlevania titles in the series. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk capabilities, along with the iconic characters, make this game the ideal entry point into the fighting game genre. This combination is certain to thrill old and new fans of the franchise."
No release date as of yet but we'd bet our bottom dollar that this one's gonna do business for the Wii.
