There's been tons of speculation and heaps of arguments over whether or not this Metal Gear Solid for the PS3 would mark the last in the series. Well the answer is yes and no. It will more than likely mark the end of Solid Snake closing the chapter on of the sneakiest and most famous operatives in video game history but the door will open for Konami to introduce a new character to take over the mantle.
Producer, Ryan Penton speaking to MTV Mutiplayer had the following to say, "I think there’s been some misconceptions that this is the last ‘Metal Gear, this is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story.”
“[Solid Snake] was a burden [for Kojima] because of all those loose ends,” Penton continued, “so when you play Metal Gear Solid 4 and when you get to the end, I think you’re going to feel that ‘wow, this is a nice closure.’ All of the weird stuff that’s gone on in the past, it’s all coming to an end. All those weird questions — everything is answered.”
Whatever they do, I hope they don't pick up with Rayden for God's sake...
