Creepy Japanese DS Thriller

Scary and atmospheric, two words to describe the latest title from Square Enix, Nanashi no Game, a new thriller which plays like a graphic novel to the point where you hold the DS like  a book as in Ninja Gaiden and Another Code. The story begins when your friend mysteriously vanishes from school and you start to investigate the disappearance beginning with your friend's house where you find a strange video game. A game that's rumoured to leave the players dead 7 days after playing it. Cue Twilight Zone music. Sounding very much like another Japanese thriller movie, The Ring. The trailer shows off some very impressive visuals and the game promises to use a unique sound system where the sounds will be rendered with a 3D feel to them so you'll hear footsteps coming up behind you. Square Enix have already gone on record as saying the game should really be played with headphones you can get the full benefit of the sound pumping out.

Either way, the trailer will speak for itself and believe me when I say, it's impressive what they're managing to squeeze out of the DS these days.
