News today revealed that retro giant, the Rubik's Cube will be digitised in the form of a game for the Nintendo DS and the Wii. A recent article in Newsweek, pointed to the game being developed by Two Tribes and published by The Game Factory will not be a standard affair or solving the cube as we know it but instead will consist of 27 smaller "cubies" which will be used to tackle unique challenges set forth in the game.
Collin van Ginkel, creative director at Two Tribes explained, "They will ask you a question like, 'Hey, what does a tree look like in the real world?' and then you can use one of the in-game activities to construct a tree made out of the Cubie shapes. Then, all of a sudden in the environment, there will be a forest made from the trees that you built."
Sounds confusing but interesting at the same time, the Wii version will also incorporate WiiConnect24 with a messageboard and score sharing.
