The first trickle of information regarding Epic Game's followup to the biggest release of 2006, Gears of War. Gears of War 2 is to be even bigger and louder that the first outing with the inclusion of the following details:
- several new characters will be introduced including the wife of your co-op partner, Dom. What part she'll play remains to be seen,
- the game will feature what a lot of multiplayer games are incorporating now which is drop in/drop out play,
- scalable difficulties to adjust to the individual gamer,
- new weapons, new vehicles, new enemies,
- a better, smoother cover system and
- a "Shut Up" function that will allow players to jump right into the midst of the action.
Creator, Cliffy B, had the following to say, "There’s a certain percentage of the audience that wants to skip all that, and
they just want to shoot some s—, and we’re more than willing to cater to that."
