Wannabe rockstar game, Rockband, is now Wii bound according to reports today. The game will be released in conjunction with Harmonix and MTV Games using Electronic Arts as the distribution partner. The RRP US price will be $169.99 for the wireless guitar, drum kit, microphone and of course the software itself.
Bob Picunko, MTV's VP of electronic games and interactive products, had the following to say, "The Wii's success among casual and core gamers of all ages makes it an ideal
match for the cross-generational appeal of the music featured in Rock Band." While Steve Singer, licensing VP from Nintendo added, "The social interaction and addictive nature of the Rock Band experience is a
perfect fit for the Wii and will undoubtedly be fun for the entire family."
The game will ship with 63 songs including an addtional bonus 5 tracks thrown in for the Wii version but to rub salt into the wound, there will be no online functionality nor will you be able to download more songs. We wish Nintendo would sort out an external storage solution and ASAP!!
