Recently Game Devoper magazine held its innaugural studt outlining the Top 50 Game Developer studios in the world and Nintendo's Kyoto studio grabbed the coveted first place. The studio in Kyoto has produced such playable gems as Wii Sports, Wii Play and two games in the Brain Age genre which have consistently ranked in the top spot on games charts since their release.
Simon Carless, publisher of Game Developer Magazine and director of game developer research, had this to say, "Nintendo's incredibly accessible and well-designed games continue to support its hardware success, which is why they reached the Top Developer spot in this first-ever Top 50 Developer Report. In addition, the mix of Western and Japanese developers in the Top 20 shows a flourishing world ecosystem for game development, as the medium continues to grow strongly into the 21st Century."
