Well, a whole new generation will have a chance to experience it all over again when Nerf N-Strike gets released on the Wii. The game will have a single player mode where you as the main character join an elite group of Nerf fighters to take on the mighty robots causing devastation...somewhere. There will be 4 player support with 24 events to take part in. Probably one of the biggest selling points is that the game will come with a Nerf gun peripheral that will allow the Wiimote to slide. We're not too fond of the Wii gun peripherals as they seem to never have good button placement but we'll view this one with an open mind when released.

Xbox Nailed...Literally

And this, little boys and girls, is what happens when you misbehave for the countless time and you father has reached his limit. We thought we'd kick off proceeding with a few pics of visitors done up in their best Sunday cosplay.

New Fungi Screens

News screens from interesting looking title for the DS, Mushroom Men - Rise of the Fungi. The eagerly awaited title, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, had information published about it on the UGO website on Tuesday when it was ordered to remove the material from their site. The article contained information in the form of a reader survey where specific info was being asked before the authenticity had a chance to be checked.

We managed to sneak some of the info before it was pulled from the site...hopefully we won't get a cease and desist from Big Brother!

16. Please grade each of the following game features on how interesting they’d be for a Nintendo DS game.
-OPEN WORLD: It takes place within an open, real world environment. You will have the freedom to navigate a massive map, explore a world with changing weather and traffic patterns, smart Police and pedestrian AI, and choose different missions to play at any given point in time.
-MATURE STORYLINE: This is the story of an outsider navigating the criminal underworld of a major city. You play as a young gang soldier involved in the internal power struggle for control of his gang.
-AD HOC MULTIPLAYER: With wi-fi connectivity, players can play each other head to head in four different game modes, including a race (seven different race maps, can race with all the game vehicles), and play co-op modes.
-LENGTH OF GAMEPLAY: 70+ missions, 20+ hours of straight gameplay—with significant replayability on top of those 20+ hours.
-STYLUS BASED MINI GAMES: Missions include a wide variety of contextual mini-games, such as assembling a sniper rifle to complete an assassination mission, and smashing locks and hotwiring cars to steal them.
-REPLAYABLE MISSIONS: A feature that allows you to jump to any completed mission from a convenient menu and play them again.

GTA IV PC Bound

Rockstar confirmed what everyone knew was going to happen anyways and that's bring GTA IV to the PC platform sometime in November in USA and Europe for now but you know that Oz won't be too far behind.

Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, had the following statement, "We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, the whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. In fact, Wee Ninjas train constantly to refine many of the techniques all Ninjas use today, including but not limited to the Stealth Hug, Sneak Snuggle and Fists of Tickle Fury.
Motto: “Honor, stealth & cookies above all else…”
White Ninja
Engineered from birth for missions in remote snowy areas, salt mines and contemporary art galleries, White Ninja is a mysterious character within Ninjatown. Whatever you do though, don’t suggest he’s an albino! Otherwise he might break out his katana and – well, ninjas don’t actually hurt anyone, but he would threaten you severely.
Motto: “Behold my poof skills!”
Anti-Ninja
This ninja isn’t so much against ninjas as he is the anti-thesis of being a ninja. After all, day or night, it’s hard to blend into the background when you’re wearing bright orange robes. Still, even though his ninja master often shakes his head in disgust, Anti-Ninja knows he looks fab since orange is this year’s black.
Motto: “Blend in by standing out…”
Baby Ninja
Wrapped in swaddling ninja robes, this wee Wee Ninja isn’t quite old enough to learn the ropes. So for now, this ninja nugget lays around, observing the daily goings on of Ninjatown, burping, gurgling and whatever other things ninja babies like to do when they’re not sleeping.
Motto: “Goo, gah, dribble…”

PC In a Wii??

Just a quick post to show what another PC modder has managed to do...squeeze a pc into a Wii case. Technology that's associated with the PlayStation has to have future-proof qualities to it."
And in final stab at the Playstation naysayers, he makes a point about mentioning the relative age of the competitors and how well PS2 has done despite this.
"I think that we're seeing, graphically, PS3 games starting to create some distance and some of the other competitors are going to feel that they're getting long in the tooth, looking quite dated, because they haven't created that ten-year vision from a horsepower standpoint."
Who wants to start laying bets now where the PS3 will be in 10 years time, hmm?

Sega Wants To Be Themselves

Seems like the dizzying success that both EA and Activision have found is not enough for Sega to want to emulate them. In a recent interview with Simon Jeffery, president of Sega of America and Forbes he was quoted as saying, "We don't intend to be Activision or an Electronic Arts -- one of those juggernauts."

Good on ya Simon for not wanting to sell out and crank needless titles based on the sporting world just to make a buck!!

He followed it up by saying, "Recently there have been some insane developer acquisitions with some insane valuations, and suddenly all the developers think they're worth ten times what they actually are. If the right opportunity [to make an acquisition] came along, we would happily be there.... We still have plenty of cash in the bank and a willingness to spend it for the right thing."

Any chance any of the money in the bank can be used on a Dreamcast sequel or comeback?? The game in question is Samurai Shodown II which was originally released for the Neo Geo system. Have a gander at the official press release.

SAMURAI SHODOWN II Coming to Wii™ Virtual Console™
Live by the Sword…Die by the Blade!
Wall, NJ - July 31, 2008 - SNK PLAYMORE USA CORPORATION, the U.S. publishing arm of the SNK PLAYMORE CORPORATION, announced today the forthcoming release of SAMURAI SHODOWN II for Wii™ Virtual Console™ on August 4th 2008.
Regarded as one of SNK’s greatest games ever produced, SAMURAI SHODOWN II successfully integrated a brand new, dynamic fighting system that was years ahead of its time. The fighting system introduced players to several new offensive and defensive maneuvers including the ability to roll both forwards and backwards, ducking to avoid high attacks, hopping to avoid low attacks and the implementation of a ‘parry’ system that would allow players to deflect incoming attacks at the last second if performed successfully. In addition to the newly revised fighting system, SAMURAI SHODOWN II also features 16 unique playable characters, hidden bosses, a two player versus mode and of course all of the wonderful translations fans have grown to love.
SAMURAI SHODOWN II will be available for Wii™ Virtual Console™ for only 900 Wii™ Points and has been rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.
SNK PLAYMORE USA also plans to release SAMURAI SHOWDOWN ANTHOLOGY for Wii™ in Q4 of 2008 for $29.99. The collection will consist of 6 SAMURAI SHODOWN games: SAMURAI SHODOWN, SAMURAI SHODOWN II, SAMURAI SHODOWN III, SAMURAI SHODOWN IV, SAMURAI SHODOWN V, and SAMURAI SHODOWN VI.

Messi Developments

Upcoming soccer sim from Konami will have stylish Argentinean forward, Lionel Messi, as the face of PES 2009 it was announced today. Instead the bikers will merely fade into nothing as the bike wears the full brunt of the wreck after crashing into another car or something on the footpath. This is all in line with the game maintaining its T rating which disallows overly violent crashes with motorbikes and their riders. The update itself will apparently be renamed from the Davis to the Motorcycle Update as well.
